Hotels & Places for Cocktail Reception in Winston Salem

My husband and I will be in Winston Salem in August for a conference. This will be our first trip there and I've been trying to get information on a place for us to stay and a restaurant where we could host a cocktail reception for as many as 100 people.

If anyone has an ideas for hotels and/or restaurants, I'd be most grateful. Thanks!

My friend got married there and had her reception at a golf course. They usually have banquet rooms and it was very nice. I don't remember which one, and I'm sure weekends might already be booked, but you could call around.

The Brookstown Inn might fit your needs for the reception and a place to stay. http://www.brookstowninn.com/

It is located near our historical area of Old Salem.

Other possibilities are
The Zeverly House www.zevelyhouse.com

Tanglewood Manor House in Clemmons

the Old Salem Tavern

the Shaffner House

Noble's Restaurant

I don't know if either of the country clubs allow non members to host events, but you can give them a call to check.

Forsyth Country Club (preferred)
www.forsythcc.org
Old Town Country Club
www.oldtowncountryclub.com

I hope you enjoy your visit to Winston-Salem!

cmcfong - thank you so much! I've looked at past posts but wasn't clear which info would apply to us and this situation.

And thanks, Kelie, too!

Susan, you are most welcome. If none of those suggestions work for you, please let me know and I will take another shot at it.
