nadoosh: if you can get a rate of 99.00 at Mirage, I would jump on that. Mirage has a fantastic pool that teens would love (although it is crowded). I'm pretty sure Sigfried & Roy's Secret Garden with the tigers is still there, along with the dolphins. I love those tigers and other animals and could sit and watch them for hours.

If you're bringing your kids, and you don't mind paying a little extra on the hotel, stay at "the Hotel". It is attached to Mandalay Bay. It is incredibly modern, you don't have to walk through the casino to get everywhere and you have all the access to Mandalay's stuff you want. Talk it from someone who used to live there...this is the place to stay.

nadoosh - while the Flamingo-Ballys-Bellagio-Caesars Palace corner, with Mirgage, TI and Venetian down the street, is my favorite spot for adults, if you are really looking to keep the teens occupied, you might consider the airport end of the strip, depending on what your teens like to do. Mandalay Bay is the farthest down that way, with what I'm told is a great beach with a wave pool, and Shark Reef (which is great but only a 30 min - 1hr diversion). Relatively close by are New York, with the roller coaster on the roof, MGM with the lions and some fun shops (movie stuff, a magic shop,...), and the shops next to MGM (the M&M store and others. I don't know about the video arcades at any of those places, but I have never seen any at Caesars, Bellagio, Ballys, or the Flamingo. Mirage is supposed to have a nice pool, and caters to young twenty-somethings, so they may have a video arcade. There is the free volcano show, and the TI pirates (now the Sirens of TI - supposed to be sexier).

Hi,
I normally post on the Africa forum but here's my 2c:

We have stayed at New York New York, the Luxor, The Bellagio and The Venetian.
We liked Bellagio the best - nice rooms, fairly central.
Didn't like the Venetian mainly due to the fact that we satyed in the newer Tower section which was a seriously long walk (about 10 - 15 minutes) to our room. I wouldn't do the walk on my own either as I found the corridors long and mainly desolate, especially in the evening- night time. Wouldn't stay there again.
I thought The Luxor was nice enough although it is far at the top of the strip. The rooms are big but a little 'sparse' and the theme isn't great - too 'in the middle' (ie not 'tacky' enough - 'half' done)

If I had your choice I would definately go for the Wynn - LOVED that hotel and it has THE BEST buffet in Vegas!!! BUT the rate for the Mirage is a fantastic one and I would be hard pushed to chose between the two. My third choice would be Caesars.

You must bear in mind though that I am not taking kids into account.

Happy planning,
Imelda

my kids are hotel snobs too!
They were most impressed with the Venetian 2 years ago when we stayed at THEhotel...which was fine, not all that impressive...but that was before Wynn!
I'd cross Luxor off your list. It's kind of "icky".
