Hotel late check-out options

Yes, the front desk was where my call was transferred to when they told me what my options are. The person I spoke with didn't want to hint how likely rooms are available the night before a request. I guess they don't want to make any promises ... but maybe they also want to push people to pay for an extra night?
Maybe I'll try calling again and see if I can speak with someone else who might give me a straight answer.

how would they know if there will be a room? If they aren't willing to promise then they aren't willing to promise. Occupancy is low but it also depends when you are going....

I'm afraid you already got your "straight answer". They aren't willing to guarantee it.
What's the worst that can happen? If you can't get the late check-out, pack and leave your luggage at the front desk, and do something non-beachy for the day that doesn't require a shower at the end. Just keep a change of clothes somewhere easy to get to and freshen up before heading to the airprot.
