KILLING TIME???
My husband and I are traveling to Cancun in Feb. We are arriving in Cancun at 10:00 am, our check in time is 3:00 at the Cancun Flamingo. Any advice on killing time in between?? Things to be careful about??

By the time you go through the airport, get your luggage and take the shuttle to the hotel, it will probably be lunch time. Check your luggage with the front desk, tell them you are eating lunch in the hotel and ask if your room might be available early. By the time you are finished eating, they should have a room available for you. Have a great time in Cancun! Post a trip report when you return. I've heard of the Flamingo but I haven't seen a lot of reviews written about it.

Many people come in early, they will be expecting that....you should be able to use all the facilities and have your luggage secured by them until your room is ready..at least that is how most hotels do it, I assume the Flamingo is the same...Once they stow your luggage you could also go shopping or anything else.. have fun !!!!

Step1, clear immigration, claim bags get green light and find transportation. Step2, travel to hotel. Step 3, race to registration and ask for room upgrade with cash in hand. Step 4, leave bags with bellman (tip now), strip off your clothes in the hospitality room (your suit is underneath!), race to the ocean and jump in. Exit and rinse except your lips as the salt is useful for the Margarita you just ordered. On November 7, 2004 the elapsed time to complete these steps was exactly 87 minutes! Have FUN!

Most people I know suggest a clearly visible $20. Depends on the resort, how frequently you visit, availability etc. I don'tknow if $50 would work during spring break but $20 in November is fine, especially at places we frequent. Just don't wave it!
