Hotel, Houston Texas near Museum district
Can anyway recommend a hotel (other than ex-Warwick Hotel which is fully booked for March) near the Museum district in Houston, or near the Metro light rail. Is downtown a good place to stay?

Downtown is good, but check how far the lightrail stop is from the hotel. For example, the Hilton America is like 6-7 blocks (pretty long ones) from the lightrail.
Another area with lightrail service is Texas Medical Center. The lightrail stops in front of the Marriott. Three stops from the museums.

Three of the more interesting hotels are the Icon, the Alden (formerly Sam Houston) and Magnolia, though the reviews are mixed for the latter two, though recent reviews of the Alden seem to be getting better. All convenient, and close to the north end of downtown where there are more clubs and restaurants.
The Courtyard Marriott is also adjacent to the lightrail.
Several others are about 3 blocks from it like the Four Seasons or the Hyatt.
