Hotel Help in Miami, Keys
We are going to Miami on 4/16. Plan to stay a couple of days, then on to either Key Largo or Key West. Then to Naples and Ft. Myers. Any help with lodging would be appreciated. Would like reasonable but on the ocean. Is this possible? Any tips on attractions would be great.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Check out the Hampton Inn in Islamorada for your Keys adventure (about 2 hours from Miami). Be warned that the trip from KW to Naples will be a doozy - it's about 5 hours from KW to Miami (assuming no stops) and another 2 from Miami to Naples. (Key Largo is about 1 1/2 hours from Miami.) Unless you have several days to stay in each locale, I'd pick just one. In Miami, check out Silver Sands on Key Biscayne.

In March 2003 we stayed at the Lime Tree Bay Resort on Long Key, about halfway down the Keys. It is right on the water, with a boat/activities hut and a little pier. The place was awesome! It was very tropical feeling, very laid back, with lots of banana trees and hammocks...the pool/spa are raised up so it overlooks the water...bbq/picnic areas...very friendly staff too. Our standard room was about $120/nt and the room was very clean, cute, and had nice cool tile on the floor. The restaurant next door, Little Italy, was pretty good, we had a breakfast and a dinner there. It's the only restaurant in the vicinity, and a general store across the street. We would definitely stay again, it sounds like exactly what you're looking for.
Would also recommend going to Bahia Honda Park, which is about 3/4 of the way down the Keys. Beautiful place to spend a day with a picnic lunch (voted best beach several years ago by Dr. Beach), soft white sand, crystal clear swimming pool blue water that's shallow to way out, kayak rentals, and a snorkel trip to Looe Key, which we loved. I have a trip report here: http://www.fodors.com/forums/threads...1&tid=34410787
Let me know if you have any questions!
