Horseback riding in Zion or Bryce Canyon

Anyone done this? I have family coming from Europe and want to show them some of the parks (also going to be doing Grand Canyon but we have a house in Mesquite NV which will be our starting point). Thought this might be fun for all of us, we are all "older" than 55 by a bit so it would have to be gentle horses as some haven't ridden before. Any ideas on who in this area does this, websites? Thanks.

I've done horseback riding at Grand Canyon North Rim with Canyon Trail Rides and I was quite happy with them. They do tours of Bryce and Zion as well. I think Bryce would be best on horseback.

I would do it in Bryce. The horse ride makes more of the park accessible if you are not into heavy hiking.
In Zion, you will enjoy the easy trails on foot.

Just a warning, if anyone in the group is over 230 pounds, they won't be able to do the horseback rides.

We did the horseback ride in Zion and had such a good time! It is a trail ride and very gentle. I don't remember the name or location however. Sorry.

My family did the Bryce ride after a stay at Zion.

If memory serves, we did the 2 hr ride to the bottom of the canyon. It was a highlight of all our family trips and I highly recommend it. They do take standbys but I recommend advance reservations if at all possible.

Not being regular horse riders, we were plenty sore after the 2 hr. version. Be prepared with jeans and something to keep the sun off your shoulders and head.

There was not a weigh in. Frankly I am right on the edge of the weight limit but they did not give me a second look and there were people that I was sure were heavier than me. No one was turned away.

have fun!
