I sometimes think I'm a well-traveled person. Then I come across posts like these. Am I the only one who doesn't have a clue what or where the honor mansion is?? Are we supposed to be mindreaders or does everyone else in the world know what Brenda is talking about?

I know Honor Mansion was a possibility for someone recently on this board. If no one answers try typing in Healdsburg under the topic search. Perhaps you'll get more info then. I will tell you the Honor Mansion is on the outskirts of town by Seghesio Winery. This location might be fine for you. You will, however, have to drive into town. There are other B&B's closer in and within walking distance to the town of Healdsburg if you are so inclined.

BTW-what are you looking for regarding lodging? It looks from your other posts you are looking at what have been considered to be premium properties. There are many more if you want suggestions. Regarding The Farmhouse Inn..I haven't stayed there but it does look great and its restaurant was just listed as one of the top 100 in the Bay Area by the SF Chronicle. You can check it out at sfgate.com

PamSF,
I would love some suggestions. Looking to spend no more than $250-275 per night. Would like to have a pool on property, a spa would be nice but not required! Looking to stay Sonoma County, although some friends are trying to talk us into Napa!!! We are interested in Healdsburg.
As of right now we are leaning towards Farmhouse because price is right w/GREAt ammenities (soaking tub, fireplace, pool, breakfast). Honor mansion sounds good, but the rooms we are interested in are a little over our budget!

Please..any recommendations you have would be welcomed.
Thanks,
Brenda

Healdsburg: I always suggest The Camellia Inn. This is a very comfortable B&B about three blocks from the town plaza(and restaurants etc). It is quiet, serves a good breakfas, has off street parking and a pool. The pool is relatively small but certainly big enough for guests. The owners are very pleasant. One is a vintner and provides tastings of his award winning wines. These folks know alot about the wineries in the area. They also serve wiine and cheese around the pool in the late afternoon(or iced tea if you are so inclined). Their rooms will certainly be in your price range. I think their "top drawer" rooms are still somewhat less than your top price. There is a spa at the Healdsburg Hotel right in downtown if you want spa services. I can't speak to their quality as I have never used them. You might also check out DuChamp. These are very "modern zen like "cottages" and there is a pool. I think they are closer to $300/noc on weekends. This is outside of town. Elsewhere in Sonoma are places like Kenwood which people seem to enjoy. I am a big fan of the Healdsburg area so can speak much more to that. There are a wealth of restaurants within walking distance to the Camellia Inn which also makes it a great location. Our personal favorite is Ravenous which is in an old house, frequented by locals and serves up great and not pretentious food. Make reservations wherever you decide to eat. BTW Healdsburg has free music in the plaza on Sunday afternoons during the summer. If you decide on Napa I'd say check out Indian Springs. This is in Calistoga which is at the top of the Silverado Trail(think wineries). This has several bungalows with small kitchenettes for rent.(upscale), a full spa and a great olympic sized mineral water pool. You are on the outskirts of town but, again, within walking distance to restaurants etc.
