Honolulu with a one year old!
My husband and I together with another couple who also has a young child are planning a trip to Hawaii with our one year old in September and would like suggestions as to where to stay. We are looking for a resort style hotel with amenities for our child and we are willing to pay top dollar for it. Any suggestions for things to do would also be great. Thanks!

Hi, I think Hilton Hawaiian Village is great because of the pool, beach and animal life to check out. If you wanted on the North Shore, Turtle Bay is nice. Or another out of the way place is Ko' Olina.
Ideas for things to do-
Check out the Aquarium at the Pacific Beach hotel.
Waikiki Aquarium and zoo. The Zoo has a stoller program where you get a fun tour and feed the elephants. There are concerts on Weds in the zoo too.
Good spots to swim - Ala Moana Beach park and Lagoon, Makapuu baby lagoons, Ko'olina Lagoons. Kailua Beach. Bellows Beach.
Pirates program on Weds at Sea Life Park.
On weekends there are free movies on the beach in Waikiki. One Sunday a month they close up the street for brunch and concerts.
Go eat at Dixie Grill. It has a sandbox for the kids to play in. Also they give popcorn and crayons to keep them busy.
Check out the Children's Discovery Center.
I can give you more ideas later.... my three year old is giving me trouble right now.

I forgot to mention the Kahala Mandarin Hotel with dolphins too.
There's a new shopping area in Waikiki with a walk-through aquarium too. I just can't think of the name right now. You'll see it as you drive down the main strip on the left hand side.
I took my daughter to the art museums that young.
We like to have picnics and fly kites at the Kapiolani Park.
I always hit the dollar store for gadgets to keep her busy while I explore.
By the way Poi is very good for kids.
