It will cost you about $20 to cab it to Waikiki--you may want to catch a shuttle instead for 1/2 the price.
Here are some I found just by going on verizon.com:
A Airport Island Shuttle
Honolulu, HI 96813

Airport Limousine Shuttle
Honolulu, HI 96813

Aloha Airport Shuttle
Honolulu, HI 96813
(808) 538-3355
Hawaii Kai Airport Shuttle

(808) 373-3333
VIP Transportation - Airport Shuttle

I always use the Waikiki Hotel Bus (although I am not sure exactly the name). I think it was $8 (Feb '05 + $2 tip to driver for helping with luggage) and makes a loop thru all the various hotels. You can buy a round trip and save a couple bucks I think.
I've done this several times, but never paid attention too carefully, you just deplane, fetch luggage, and go outside to ground transportation and the options are all lined up. Ask any worker in a Hawaiian shirt, where's the Waikiki Shuttle and they'll point you to a bus. Seemed to leave about every 1/2 hour.

When you get into the airport, grab your baggage and go out front. There will be several options for you.
The best for me was the bus that charges $8.00 one way or $14.00 round trip. (You have to call 24 hours ahead to set up your return pick up, phone number is printed on your ticket stub.)
They were courteous and on time! The Waikiki Beach MArriott is absolutely gorgeous! Go out the back and you are on their breathtaking beach. Take lots of pictures! The sea turtle statues out front are spectacular and the one story sidewalk aquarium across the street is worth watching for hours.
If you need a map book, go to our online store, we carry the Oahu Street Guide and the Rand McNally EasyFinder laminated folded map in stock and discounted. Our online map store is www.mapbooks4u.com . Have a wonderful adventure in Hawaii!
