Honeymoon in Kauai

My fiance and I are interested in traveling to Kauai for our honeymoon in June. A friend recommended the Kauai Coast Resort, and I wondered if anyone has ever heard of it. Also, any ideas on reasonable, but nice lodging on Kauai would be appreciated.

Jen, there's loads of Kauai info contained in previous posts, so use the TEXT SEARCH feature.
1. Type in
Kauai Coast Resort
and hit the FIND BUTTON
That will bring up every message thread that has it mentioned.
2. Do another search, this time typing in:
Kauai
That will bring up all message threads that contain the word Kauai.
Lots of people honeymoon in Hawaii so there's lots of helpful info for your reading pleasure.

To Jen's helper-Jen may have already done a search for "Kauai Coast Resort" and nothing came up. This is a specific question about a hotel, not general about kauai. Also, she should do a search using kauai, kaui and under Hawaii, and general interest/region wide. Different results come up.

I did a quick search on google, and found out it is an Aston property, used to be called Kauai Beachboy Resort, is in the Coconut Marketplace on the east coast. I'm betting our resident expert Kal, who just returned from the area, may know about this place...

Jen If you want to rent a condo not a bad idea there are plenty of those in Princeville but I prefer Hanalei.
Try going to the website for Hanalei North Shore Properities. There are also loads of other options here.

Hanalei you walk on flat land to the beach and Princeville you are perched on a scenic cliff and must wald down to the beach.

Kauai coast resort you are half an hour from most major sites. Not sure if you are on a swimming beach there. I would find and inexpensive condo on the north shore (sealodge exmaple) have not stayed but looks gorgeous and others have given high marks here.

Here is a link on where we stayed
http://www.hanaleihouse-kauai.com/information.html scroll to the bottom for individual unit links we stayed at the aloha unit, there are smaller units.

Our rental was exceptional but if you go online and do your own research I would generally suggest you stay with the realitors they are in other cases going to handle your needs with professional customer service care.

Question for sss or anyone who knows:

Hanalei Bay: From my research, I have learned that it is indeed a flat crescent shaped bay, seems to have a road along the water, with public pavillions on the beach. I am trying to find a rental cottage: are there any actual beachfront homes, or are they all built "across the road"? Also, I've seen cautions about renting close to the pavillion area due to "night owls". Where are they, and how many?

Thanks much!
Joan
