Homewood Suites?
I am planning on going to the Homewood Suites Hotel in Williamsburg, Virginia. Any comments on this hotel?
In addition, I personally have never stayed at a Homewood Suites, how are they in general, in comparison to other hotels?
Thanks!

We stayed at the Homewood Suites in Seattle last year. It had previously been a Park Plaza Hotel and had just changed over to the Homewood Suites. The rooms were very clean and well appointed. The staff was very helpful and they had a courtesy van that would take you anywhere within a five-mile redius. Our suite included a daily breakfast which was very good. We would definitely use this chain again.

The one in Hartford, Ct (Windsor) was nice, free wine and beer and appetizers in the PM. Mostly business types (like me)the suite was very nice and well appointed. Lots of room, like a small apartment. Nice for a prolonged stay. Full kitchen, living room type area. No restaurant or bar. Usually they are placed within close proximity of same.
The "happy hour" is a nice place to meet people, for awhile. That would be the lobby, it's comfortable for a short time. Very nice for the room, sucks for the food and service (if that's what you want)make sure eateries are close by. Other than that, it's oriented towards business travellers.

That's the site. It'll give you the lowdown. I have heard the one in Chicago is outstanding.

Yep, they're nice, roomy hotels, w/kitchenette in the 3 or 4 that I've stayed in. Only comment is that you may want to check and see if they have a hair dryer in the room or bring your own if you need one. I stayed in one in Atlanta that didn't have one in the room, and while they had loaners, most were out and it took a long time to get one (as usual I was in a rush---gees we're spoiled here in the US). I'd definitely recommend them. Can be similar to Residence Inns in many ways if you're familiar w/them.

Here's another thumbs up for the Homewood Suites in Chicago. I was there last summer and it couldn't have been nicer. The staff was exceptional, the breakfast was a treat (and a huge money saver as well) and the room was terrific. The location, just under Michigan Ave. was only a problem until I discovered that by walking through the Marriott lobby it was easy. Reviews on this chain (the one in Chicago is owned by Hilton, by the way) all seem positive.
