hollywood area hotels for 5

We would like to stay in the Hollywood area for a few nights in October but in looking for hotels we can't find much for a family of 5. We would like to stay in a nicer place but one that is kid friendly with a pool. I did find a Residence in in Manhattan beach and El Segundo which does 5 but it looks further out of the way. There is a Residence in in Beverly Hills but there is not a pool and the parking fee is high. Any suggestions? thanks!

Is there a reason you want to stay in the Hollywood area? It is not a very kid-friendly area. Hollywood is worth about a 2 hour stop on a tour of the greater LA area, IMO. It is not a great place to base yourselves. Maybe if you tell us a little about your itinerary, we can suggest alternative areas for you.

Also, the weather in October might be a little too cool to enjoy an outdoor swimming pool.

I was actually thinking the same thing about it not being kid friendly, but it looks central to other things. We will be staying for a week at Marriott's Newport Coast before and we were going to be going to Disney during those days as well as going to the Queen Mary. (I was also thinking that during that week we could knock off a few LA site seeing things off of our list too) We wanted to see, while in LA for 2 nights the "typical Hollywood things" as well as spending a day in Universal. (we could also do Universal during the week we are staying at Newport Coast) We also like Santa Monica and wanted to take a drive to Malibu as well. We will be flying from LAX so didn't want to be too far for our flight out. Thanks so much!

I also did find a Marriott in Marina del Ray which does not look kid friendly but they have a junior suite which is big and does allow for a rollaway bed which looks like it would fit the 5 of us. How is Marina del Ray for a location?
