Holiday Inn Maingate West, Orlando, Florida

I was quoted a really good rate on this hotel yesterday and I'm wondering what is wrong with the hotel. Has anyone out there ever stayed at this particular hotel? How was your experience?

Do a search, I seem to remember questions (and responses) to this property last summer. I have stayed there several times, but I wasn't on vacation, just looking for a bed for the night. Not knowing what your requirements are it would be hard to answer other than - it's your average Holiday Inn with a lot of traffic.

If it is the one I am thinking of, This is an older hotel, but OK. On busy road, but close to WDW (ALL the roads are busy!) If your objective is to do Disney & save money, staying outside the WDW property will do that. Check out if breakfast is included, and if a free shuttle to the parks is available. You can always drive & park at one of the theme park lots, then board Disney transportation to hop between the parks if you get the park-hopper pass. Also check out Deb wills' unofficial guide to WDW at www.wdwig.com She has info on nearby hotels & trip reports.

In Lake buena vista, walking distance to Downtown Disney and within 5 minutes by car to all the disney parks is the Courtyard marriott and the best western lake buena vista..on hotel plaza boulevard (lots of others;wyndham, hilton, doubletree, hyatt--but these are more expensive). For XMAS week at the C. Marriott only $79 a night for weeknights-weekend $119. I suspect the rooms are lower now. ROOM Service. Pool for adults and kids, jacuzzi, bar downstairs, a pizza hut, deli, tgby, downstairs, fast check in and out service. I was thrilled and SO, SO close to everything by car! Good luck.

Hi,
Well my 2 cents. I stayed at the
Sheraton - four points. Its on beeline
expressway and tradeport/conway intersection. Its a lovely hotel. Very
close to airport. You have car rental
agencies around. The hotel has a nice
conceirge. Nice restaurant with either
continental buffet - 6.95 or the regular
buffet for 8.95.
Nice rooms. I stayed for 4 nights.
I got the rooms thru priceline for $40/night. They usually go for $89/night. Good luck.
