Holiday Inn Downtown Memphis @ Beale Street

Has anyone stayed at this hotel and if so what are your thoughts? I have a rate right now of 125.00 for a Friday. Is that good? Also what are must sees and eats right there close to that hotel?

I think it's a Holiday Inn Express. It's right across the street from the Peabody, and I've stayed there a couple of times. It's nothing special; the rooms are a little small but the location is great. Your rate sounds high to me, but it's Memphis in May time and I'm sure rates are inflated all over town.

I am from Memphis and have stayed there. I believe we paid about $100/night. It is a good location but the hotel/rooms are nothing special.

The Rendevous is downtown and famous for their ribs. If you want good, dry ribs, that's all it's good for. Automatic Slims is good and is at Union and Second ( a block from your hotel). Also, at Union and front there is Cafe Samovar which is a great little Russian place. I have never had a bad meal here. For nightclubs, head to Beale Street. Club 152 is good.

Beware that even though this Holiday Inn is promoted as "Beale Street"..it is on Union Avenue across from the Peabody....about 2 blocks from Beale. One of the closer hotels, but not the closest if that's your objective.

You are right next to the Rendevous to eat and make sure you do a walk through of the Peabody
