Hilton Head or Somewhere Else?

I am trying to plan a family reunion for Columbus Day weekend. I have been to Hilton Head before and like the quiet pace, access to activities, ability to rent a large house, and good prices. Does anyone have any suggestions about similar places no farther from Florida than HH? Does anyone who knows HH want to recommend a rental agency that specializes in large houses on the beach? All help appreciated.

We went there last year & used Worthy Rentals to rent a condo and had good luck with them. My brothers have used them a number of times to rent homes on the beach and also never had a problem. I have a brochure at home - post if you want me to include the info to contact them.

Kate,
Thanks for the reply. I searched for houses at www.worthyrentals.com but couldn't get any results. Anyone else?

We rented a property we found on vacationspot.com, called "3 Dune Lane". It was beachfront with pool and jacuzzi, absolutely gorgeous. Only sleeps 8 though, so don't know if that'd be big enough for your group. On that website, you can input your number of children and adults for a narrower selection. Too bad you are limiting yourself northward, because I would have *highly* recommended Nags Head, NC. Our large family is going to have our fourth reunion there this summer. Great off-season prices, too, check out villagerealtyobx.com for a peek. (Although I certainly understand - my travel time from Tampa Bay is 15 hours, rest of the family from Philly, only 8 hours max)
