Hilton Head Accomodations ?

Planning a late August 2010 vacation with my wife & 9 yr old son. Trying to decide whether to stay at the Marriott Resort & Spa or the Hilton Resort. Any feedback would be appreciated since this is our first visit to the area.

I would look at the reviews on TripAdvisor, since there will be many more reviews than you'll get on here. That said, we stayed at the Hilton a few years ago, and thought it was pretty "tired". The room was huge, but with low ceilings (and happened to be in a lousy location that they wouldn't change -- overlooking a parking lot, and noise from below). The pool was just okay. Nothing about it stood out for me and I would not return.

How long are you going to be here? What are your interests? You may be better served with a villa.

I researched this for a March, 2010, trip and concluded that the Westin is the best choice.

If you bring this to the top in late March, I will let you know our experience there.

Thanks to all the feedback! We'll be staying for 1 week. We enjoy biking, tennis, jet skiing, boogie boarding, volleyball, sightseeing, shopping & eating.
