Hiking Valley of Fire with kids?
We're taking our spring break trip in Southern Utah and Las Vegas. We're starting out in Northern Utah and driving to Bryce the first night, Zion the next two nights and we have accomodations in Vegas for the remainder of our week before we head back to northern Utah.
I saw several posts about how beautiful the Valley of Fire is. First of all, is it something a 7 and 9 year old could hike? And when would you fit it in the trip?
Thanks a bunch!

I'd think the kids could handle the trail back to the "Mouse's Tank." It's about .75 mile long, and is composed of smooth rocks and a red, sandy soil. It's not strenous, but you do have to use a bit of caution--you could twist an ankle. That's also the main walk for the petroglyphs--it's well-worth the amble.
I'd catch it going from Zion to Las Vegas. The other option is to do it on your way home--depends on how long you've got to drive.
