Hiking in CT? One night hotel..help!

I want to take my boyfriend (we're in our 20's) hiking in CT. Just for a day...and a really nice romantic hotel to stay in...with nice restaurants in the area? I'd like to go around mid November...

Any suggestions??? I'd appreciate any advice

You're posting on the U.S. board. Do you plan to go hiking in Connecticut? If so, where in Connecticut?

If you're referring to the Cinque Terre, you'll get more answers on the Europe board. Though the Cinque Terre in mid-November may not be the best destination.

(Silly me! I thought Connecticut because, well it IS the US board, and sarap02446 DID tag it as Connecticut!)
Anyway--where in CT are you hoping to be? ARe you looking for an Inn or B&B or a 'real' hotel? Weekend (may be hard to do for one night, even in November)or midweek? How much are you budgeting for your stay? CT has some mighty pricey romantic places to stay...

You might google New Preston, CT or Lake Waramaug, CT
You've got the Boulders in New Preston and Hopkins Inn and others I cant remember

Thanks for the replies! I did mean Connecticut..I really don't know where in CT to go hiking. Weekend, either a B&B or real hotel would be fine...just a nice place! As far as budget, I guess for one night I'd be willing to splurge a little.
Thanks again

Try the White Hart Inn, Salisbury, convenient to the Bear Mountain (CT) hike, Lion's Head and several others.

http://www.whitehartinn.com/

If you click on "About our area" you'll find a section on hiking.

You might consider Simsbury. You could hike the Metacomet trail in Farmington/Avon/Simsbury/Granby - spectacular views along a traprock ridge, plus some historic sites along the way. The Simsbury Inn (www.simsburyinn.com) is a very charming hotel as is the town itself. And Simsbury has several nice restaurants (Metro Bis, Amelia's are two of our favorites). In nearby Avon there is also Max A Mia, Carmen Anthony Fishhouse, Toshi to name a few.

Keep in mind that mid-Nov in CT is hunting season so be sure to wear bright clothing while hiking no matter where you go. There is no hunting that I am aware of in the state parks/forests that the Metacomet trail passes through, but you pass through or close to private land also.
