Hike Maui

Does anyone have any experience with a hiking company called Hike Maui? they have numerous options for different waterfalls and some with kayak/snorkeling/waterfall. Also a 4 mile or an 8 mile hike around Haleakala crater. I am headed to Maui May 2 for a week.
Thanks

I am not familiar with the company. I don't think you need to go with a tour; there are tons of books and websites on hiking in Hawaii. You can figure out what you are interested in and go from there.

The book "Maui Revealed" has a section on all the great hikes to take in Maui. If you have a car, it's easy to drive to them on your own. Also, once you get to the island, every bookstore there has several books specifically about hiking trails.

Also, Maui Revealed will describe how to get to the best snorkeling and waterfalls on your own.

The Hike Maui tours are pretty popular with tourists. It's a very safe way of hiking especially if you don't know your way around the island.

We did an all-day hike with HikeMaui 10 years ago and it was fantastic. It ended up being a highlight from our trip. Their guides are so knowledgeable that I think I suffered from information overload. I was learning so much that none of it could sink in, but I remember being completely fascinated. We've decided to go back to Maui in a few weeks to celebrate our 20th, and are considering doing the same hike again, and we're not usually the "tour operator" types, we usually love to go exploring on our own, but we really did enjoy having a guide that day.
