Highest Gas Price

My record observed self-serve price is $2.999 per gallon for self-serve unleaded in Shoshone, California this past week. Any challengers?

I havent seen 2.15 for a long time. I'm in the L.A./ Orange County Area

Feb = 2.30 and Mar = 2.40-2.85 so far.

I treat like milk and meat. I'm going to buy it anyway so I don't pay much attention to it.

Sheesh. And I remember complaining when I could only get a gallon of gas for 25 cents during the "oil crisis" in '73. Were you "even" or "odd"?!

Hi sugergirl, good grief, you do bring back memories (and actually it really doesn't seem that long ago although it was). Odd or even. We were in luck. On car odd and the other even. Both cars used in business.

So up at 6:00am every morning to fill up the car that qualified for that day.

Looking back on those times although it was annoying it was also fun. The owner of the service station passed out coffee and donuts, people got out of their cars and stood around and talked and of course complained. Never thought I would look back on those days and think "well we did have fun actually". And to think we griped about the cost of gasoline then!

Does anyone know what the gas is costing on Highway One (the coastal route) in California right now? Last year (April, 2004) we paid just over $3 per gallon for regular unleaded. There are only a couple gas stations en route, and when you gotta have gas... supply and demand at its best!

I paid $1.89 yesterday here in Central NJ. But right across the state line in PA it was $2.10. NJ is highly regulated and thats why our gas prices are a bit lower then the rest of the country. We aren't even allowed to pump our own gas (a very good thing in foul weather months).

1.95 at Costco in charlotte, 2.00 elsewhere. less in SC just across the border. At least with 3.00 a gallon is some parts, fewer large SUV drivers will pollute our air by warming up their cars in the morning and not carpooling.

I use above 90 octane and paid 2.39 a gallon a couple days ago in Naples, Florida, but yesterday noticed at the same station it is now 2.49. I noticed that at Costco here, all three types were 3 cents a gallon higher than at Hess on the same day.

At Costco in Poway yesterday, regular was $2.26 per gallon. At other places around here I've seen as much as $2.39. The Mobil closest to my house is at $2.29, although gas prices seem to change several times a day sometimes. It would be slightly more understanable if the price changed with each new delivery, but that is ceratinly not the case.

A friend told me the guy at his station mentioned they had just ordered a bunch of 3's for the price board. That was a scarey thought.

Wow! I am so thankful I live in the USA (we are 102nd in price at the pump). I can only imagine what it would be if we were in the top 50!
