Awww, I think that's a great story. You have your home away from home every time you pull on one of those shirts!

Hi there STW, inspite of the long hours I hope you are enjoying your new job!

Statia, you will be living out of a suitcase. Hope you remember which next loction you will need to be at, lol.

Mms, what a bummer to not be able to take advantage of that great airfare!
Please let me know some good restaurants or cafes in McMinnville, my stepdaughter and husband purchased 10 acres there..but they were rushed and so didn't find the best places to eat. Thanks!

And sunbum, Victoria is indeed such a beautiful city. Just received an email from NeilOfOz they will be arriving there tomorrow.

Happy travels everyone, and I sure hope you get a chance to go somewhere STW. Take care and don't forget to give yourself some down time!

LoveItaly--We have found a couple of great little places! I take the girls there for private tennis lessons each week, so we have been scouting around. Wild Wood Cafe is great...breakfast and lunch only though. All sorts of egg dishes...very good! Alf's is a dive type burger/ice cream place right by the campus. It has apparently been around for ages (looks like it too, lol!) but good burgers and ice cream according to the girls. The owners have a live monkey there too...yes, really! In a glass room, hard to describe..but this monkey is hilarious and watches all the patrons. There is also Bistro Maison for fine dining, McMenamins for their usual but at the historic hotel, and then a friend just told me of La Rambla. Quite a few of these are on 3rd, and there are more places along that street that we have yet to check out.

In less than a month, I am going to stay in a lighthouse in northern Michigan for a week with three of my girlfriends. It'll be a 'working' vacation, but I don't plan on working too hard!

Statia - I want your life! Living on an island folding laundry...

AnnMarie_C - enjoy Santa Fe! I'm going later this year so save some chile for me!

BG - Have fun out west, and don't worry about getting too cold - you'll have the Cajun man to keep you warm!

STW - I hope you get to travel somewhere soon. It's no fun not having anything planned!

A trip down the aisle....and THEN to Puerto Vallarta, MX. All of this in less than 3 weeks. Woo hoo!!! I feel like it's been years since I've been on vacation.

Wow, Ethel - it seems like you've been planning this wedding for a long time. I'm so happy it's almost here for you and I hope everything is magical! The day will go by so fast. Make sure you take a few time outs throughout the day to savor it a little. But I'm sure you & soon-to-be DH will have plenty of time to relive everything while lounging on the beach drinking margaritas! Have fun!

sumrknot, no Keystone is a ski resort.

It was the end of the season sale and I think we got them for $9.99. A couple of us bought them (from work) and when we see each other traveling in cold weather, we all seem to be wearing them.

Gasp! Oh, no!!! I bet folks think we are tourists! Oops, wrong thread!

STW...wow, sounds like a sweat shop you are working for!!!!!!! I work a lot too. I love it when I read about the self-employed...all the "freedom" you get, and "set your own hours". Yea, right. When you're in a "service" business, you work mostly when your clients want you. So, I'm usually doing something for at least 6 days a week, and usually my days run aobut 12 hours. I DO draw the line on Sunday, and I won't see people late in the evening. At that point I'm feeling like I've done enough and just say no. I find that the client almost always CAN work out another time. So, I'll do a trip report on the Watonga Cheese Festival. I can't wait.

My SO's daughter moved there when she got married. Her father-in-law was raised there and her husband wanted to move to be close to his family and his father. So, we are going to scope the place out and I discovered that they have a cheese festival, so thought that would give us something to do besides sit around, stare at each other, and eat all day!!! LOL The newly renovated Watonga Motel charges an exhorbitant 42.00 per night for a room!!! I was told that they have ordered new beds but they aren't sure they will all be in by the time we go..LOL. I'm not much for staying with people, friends OR family, so the motel works for me!!!!!

So STW, hopefully a trip will manifest for you before too many months go by.

I'm not sure. The judges will have to confer.
