Hershey Park in April
We are taking the kids to Hershey Park on April 10/11 (Sat. & Sun.).
Our kids are a 5 year old girl and a 3 (in May) year old boy.
We booked a room at the Howard Johnson Inn on Chocolate Ave. and are driving in from NJ.
Any advice?
Anyone has stayed at the hotel?
Anything we should put on the "must do" list?
I wanted to buy tickets on-line but they charge a fee...I HATE fees.
I called up Hershey but to buy tickets from them to send to us they also charge a fee...I HATE fees.
Can I safely assume I'll be able to buy tickets at the park?
Thanks in advance.

you can absolutely buy tickets at the park! Your hotel will probably have a slight discount deal too. we love hershey park --it has rides for all ages.... so if one person wants to go on scary rollercoaster, there is a tame ride right next to it. Lots and lots of little kid rides. there is a train ride that gives a good park overview; little kid flume ride, bumper cars, buzzy bees etc... the only thing about april is that 1/3 of the park is water rides/get wet. it might be too cold to swim and get wet... but still plenty to do otherwide.
the don't miss is chocolate world-- the tour of the "factory" in a separate building, right before you enter the park. you ride through a simulated factory and smell chocolate, get baked like cocoa --totally kid friendly and fun!! and it shows you how they make it all. there's also a 3-D movie and a (extra fee) chocolate tasting show (if you have time) do chocolate world AFTER the amusement park, because it ends in a HUGE candy store and you'll want to buy stuff and not carry it all day.

Discount tickets can be purchased at Giant (PA) grocery stores (there's one in Hershey,) and a couple other places. http://www.hersheypark.com/tickets/coupon_partners.php

Your from NJ so you have experienced the record snowfalls that we had this year.
While it is over 50 degrees today, we still have a ton of snow on the ground
I hope the park is ready for early April visit!
Just a thought! Not wanting to snow on your fun!...second thought, just forget what I have said.........the snow should be all gone by then.........I hope!

Don't miss the Boardwalk, especially the wave pool and lazy river. Plan to spend three hours minimum in that part of the park. Chocolate World's ride is the other best part. Just do it. Minetown has a lot of kiddy rides, not so many coasters. And remember, zooamerica is free with paid admission. It's also usually a lot cooler.
