Help with vacation destination

Hi!
I want to surprise my husband by taking him on a vacation for his birthday in March. We love to party and go to night clubs. We live in Michigan, so i was wondering if you could suggest a place for us to go for a couple of days. My budget for the trip is $400.00.
thanks!

Chicago?

You won't be able to fly anywhere, so you're pretty limited. Chicago has everything you'd want, and you can get a deal on hotels through priceline.

You could also look into other cities in the area - Cincinnati, Cleveland. Not sure of the club scene in either though.

Another thought if you're pretty young. East Lansing, Ann Arbor and Madison (WI) would all offer the college bar/club scene if that would appeal to you more.

Not sure where you live in Michigan... you might consider Toronto, it's about a three hour drive to Toronto from Port Huron. Even though the Canadian dollar is at an all-time high, Canada is wonderful and I bet you could have a fabulous time for $400 USD.

Just be very careful to watch your speed on the Canadian side of the border. There tend to be lots of police officers stoppig cars and issueing speeding tickets right before entering the US. (Perhaps for 25 kms.) A speeding ticket would certainly be a nasty surprise to the old budget.

You might post where you are in Michigan. Michigan is such a large state.

rajeitha - Both Chicago and Toronto are great cities, and you'll find plenty of partying and clubbing to keep you busy at night.

To help you decide which you'd prefer to see this year, consider how you'd like to spend your days. If you have specific interests, I'm sure the fine folks here can help you determine which city fits them best.
