mlgb,
You mention Fisher Towers.

On our last day in Moab we drove up that road (128?). We drove up past the old bridge (burned) and to the petroglyphs.

On the way back we stopped at Fisher Towers and hiked thru. What a great surprise when I saw some climbers at the top of the Corkscrew. One of them was standing at the top and had his arms stretched out. I yelled for him to turn around. He turned and then yelled down his email address. I sent him the photos and he sent me some he took the next day from the top.

From there we drove the La Sal loop and stopped near the top to throw some snowballs.

I have not stayed at Red Cliff, it looks great. But, it also looks like it too far away for me. Would add an hour to your drive every day you are in Moab.

I do take a little time to relax at each of the parks, but not much. I don't rush through the parks, but I do a lot while I am there.

Byllb,
You really can't go wrong with anything anybody has suggested, it is all really good a unique. You'll have a great time whether short, long, easy, strenuous, relaxed, rushed, or however you do it.

spiro, what I did was spend two nights at Red Cliff and two nights in town. It wasn't too bad that way especially since I did Fisher Towers and La Sal from there.

I think 4 nights there would start to get a bit annoying.

Myer, that's a cool story about exchanging photos of Fisher Towers!

For those who haven't been there it's a must do at sunset. Flaming red and looks like something from another planet. I didn't know about them until I saw them on a postcard or poster somewhere in Moab...maybe at the Red Cliffs.

I do think Red Cliffs would be excellent for a more of a relaxed type of trip. I am sure there is still plenty to do there as well.

Read about the trip you & your wife planned in May '10. Wanted to know where you ended up going and how it turned out. My husband & I are planning just about the same trip to May '14. Would like to hear about your experiences, what worked, what didn't and any other suggestions you have. Thanks

jcmrbm1 this is quite an old posting.

Did you know you can read trip reports from Fodorites?

They can be a little hard to find if you are new.

For Utah, try
http://www.fodors.com/community/unit...tripreport.cfm

For Arizona, try

jcmrbm, if you cliick on the blue name of the posters who answer frequently you can scroll down to trip reports from the ones who have responded and find lots of information on trips they have taken. Many also have links to pictures etc.
