help with las vegas hotel suggestions please
Hello again. I am now fine tuning our trip to USA in early June and am now finalizing hotel reservations. Firstly I was hoping I may enlist the help from all of you experienced travellers for hotels on the strip in Vegas for 2 nights only. I am travelling with my husband and 4 yold daughter and would like something pleasant but budget price.
At this stage I am tossing up between Bill's Gamblin Hall and the Tropicana. I would greatly appreciate any hints or suggestions or alternative hotels please!!...Then I shall start a new topic on San Fran accommodation!! Thank you all soo so much for your help!

Location wise, Bill's Gamblin Hall is in a MUCH better location if you want to be center strip. Not sure at all about the rooms, though. Have you looked into the Flamingo, it's fine and right there near Bill's Gamblin Hall. I just stayed at the Flamingo a couple weeks ago.

We stayed at Bally's recently--across the street from Bill's, which we thought was a great lcation. The rate from www.i4vegas.com was $44 per night.

If those are your two choices, Bill's is just fine - we loved that place, especially for the location and the dining within. One advantage of Bill's is that, due to its small size, it's only steps to mid-strip - no long hallways.

If possible, I usually stay at Bill's because of the great location and great room rates. It is in a much better location than the Tropicana, IMO.
Casino can get smoky, but it's not big, so you can be out on the street very quickly from your room.

Bills location is much better but if you want to swim Tropicana has a very nice pool. If you don't want a pool though Bills is more than fine. You can always book now and keep check on the rates - they may come down as your trip nears and you can cancel the original reservation.
