Help with Itinerary Choices

My husband and I are planning a 2 week August trip to Alaska. These are my questions:
1- How much time for Anchorage (if at all)
2- How much time for Fairbanks (If at all)
3- What is the drive like from Anchorage to Chitena? We are thinking we should go to Wrangell-St Elias Park and fly there from Chitena. Is it worth the long drive? Is there a better way to get there?
4- If we had to choose between Wrangell and Glacier Parks, which is best and why?
5- What are the roads like?
6- What are the trains like-- are they as scenic, e.g., from Anchorage or Denali to Seward?
7- Any recommendations for a hotel with a spa that isn't really large and busy?

Any help would be appreciated. There is so much to choose from!

You need to give us a bit more. What are your interests?

Why Wrangell-St. Elias? Do you mean Glacier National Park in Montana?

What's best for one person might not be for another.

Anchorage is a large city with lots of things to do and see, some in town, some nearby. Fairbanks is smaller with fewer attractions by comparison.

The roads are generally good, two lanes except right around Anchorage. Most rental cars aren't allowed on unpaved roads.

The Anchorage - Seward train is quite scenic, but so is the road it parallels. The Anchorage - Denali - train is scenic in bits but generally not as scenic as the Seward or Whittier trains. Same goes for the Parks Highway (more or less the same route.)

Check out the Alyeska Resort in Girdwood.
