Help with Hawaiian Scavenger Hunt

I thought it would be fun to have a Hawaiian Scavenger Hunt during our summer trip to the Big Island and Kauai. Our family (daughters 7 and 10) could be searching for items on a premade list, some easy items, some moderate, and some extremely hard. Here are some ideas I have:

monk seal
nene goose
petroglyph
coconut bra
sandcastle
rings of Saturn

My girls are very excited about playing this game. Does anyone want to help with suggestions, especially for some harder-to-find items???? Thanks!

Someone with white socks and sandals.

A really bad sunburn.

Good idea! You must be a fun teacher as well as a good mom!

SuzieTrue- the two types of lava are called a'a and pahoehoe.
Incidentally, the fish you were thinking of is spelled: humuhumunukunukuapua'a.

This may sound silly, but...a dog! I've been on Maui for 1 week and have only seen 3.

What fun you're family will have! Aloha!

Iregeo--have you kept yourself to your resort? There are dogs everywhere! Nearly every truck has a dog in it, half of the shoppers at Home Depot have a dog with them, in the evening lots of people take their dogs down the beach for a swim after work. Of course, if you've been keeping to mostly resort areas you'll not be seeing many people with dogs.
