Help with Atlanta Airport Hotel

Can anyone recommend a cheap but safe hotel very close to the Atlanta airport. I had originally booked a room at the Econo Lodge but then heard just awful things about it.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. By the way, the Econo Lodge was $40/night. I'm willing to spend more but would like to keep it below $70.

Is anyone familiar with this one?

Comfort Inn Atlanta Airport
4601 Best Road
College Park GA 30337

Any hotel in the area in the $40-$70 range will likely be of similar class and service. I suggest trying Priceline or Hotwire and putting in a 3-4 star hotel with $70 as your top bid. You may get lucky, depending on your dates.

Price Line sounds like a great idea; if that doesn't work, the Red Roof Inn is brand spanking new, plenty of good restaurants within a stone's throw, safe, and should fit within your budget. It is on Virginia Ave (where many airport hotels are located) but on the other side of the I-85 overpass which somehow seems to make it more secure.

I also recommend Priceline. The Westin and Marriott are two hotels that often come up in winning bids for that area. My co-workers often stay at these two hotels. I also recommend contacting them directly. It can't hurt anything.

SDA1, go to betterbidding.com and see what hotels come up on priceline...I didn't look before posting this, but I think the Westin and Marriott and perhaps a Hilton or Hyatt come up with consistently good rates.

Hey, thanks to everyone for their help. I went to priceline and got the Holiday Inn Atlanta Airport South for $45.

Seems like a good deal to me. I'm glad to be out from under the Econo Lodge.

Anyone ever stat at the HI south?
