There is also a consolidator www.hotrooms.com which only deals with Chicago and Washington DC hotel rooms.
I've found pretty good rates from them in the past, although the rates yo mentioned above seem pretty good for Chicago.
Also, if you'll be there for quite a bit of time, consider dropping off you bags at the hotel, then driving to the outskirts/suburbs to park and take the train back to the city.

You'll save $16/night in Skokie, but still have to either pay $3.00 roundtrip on the El train's Skokie Swift line into Chicago or you'll have to drive and *still* pay $15-20 in parking. Either way, you're wasting precious time from your visit.
As others posted, opt either for the Swissotel, the Claridge, or Seneca. Better yet, follow the advice to use hotrooms.com or one of the other consolidators. Many of my friends use these site and find great deals.
A final option to save a few $$ is to park in either Midway's or O'Hare's long-term parking and train it into the city. Not worth the minimal savings or time IMO, tho.
