Help on Disneyland

We are planning a trip to Disneyland and would appreciate advice on the following

1) we do not wish to drive (as it's right hand drive in our country), is it possible to get around?

2) any recommendations for good hotels within walking distance to Disneyland and restaurants

3) are there day tours which we can book to Knotts / Legoland / Shopping

4) are there taxis in Anaheim? and how do you flag one?

Please help.

Thank you

Contrary to what others will tell you, yes, it is possible to get around. I can't recommend any hotels with in walking distance, but there are plenty of hotels with shuttles to the parks. Others who have stayed near the parks can help with specific hotels.

There are quite a few companies who do bus tours from Anaheim. http://www.anaheimsightseeing.com/ is one place to start, but there are others as well. I have attended many conferences at Disneyland and the organizers have always included information on various bus excursions. As I lived in SoCal, I have never taken any of these myself, and without any first-hand knowledge I couldn't recommend one over the other to you. But they are there for you! I bet that once you find your hotle they can recommend tours for you.

Taxis you will have to call. You can have the front desk at your hotel or ask the hostess at the restaurant to call one for you. I always ask the driver for his card, just in case I find myself in need of a cab later and have to call one myslef.

You get better info at www.mousesavers.com and www.disboards.com. Mousesavers gives you hotel deals around Disneyland. Disboards has a chat forum filled with experienced disney visitors.
Good Luck!

Anmd, frankly I think if you are REALLY smart you'll stay in one of the on-site Disney hotels and forget about getting back and forth from the ones "nearby."
