Help Needed-Hearst Castle, Redwoods, Grateful Dead-Oh My!

We're headed there in a few weeks. Looking forward to it, especially now that its snowing like crazy in upstate NY. We really love staying in Pacific Grove instead of Monterey or Carmel - wonderful walking paths all along the coast.

gardyloo-just had a moment to look at your photos with my wife. Wow-they are amazing! We are getting so excited about our trip to your beautiful state!
sharondi-hope you have a great trip & thanks for the advice! I think we will try to stay in Pacific Grove for a few days as well.
Just got our flights booked. Flying into/out of SFO-will arrive early(love that time difference from the east coast)and will have 9 days total. Starting to work out the itinerary, and thanks to all of you who have advised me, it should be pretty easy. I think we are going to pick up our rental & drive south and then begin our trek up the coast.
