Hi Kara,
We've lived here in Seattle for nearly 30 years. Lots to choose from but I'm not really familiar with whats downtown. We usually will take relatives and friends from out of town to places with views: Space Needle (pricey but can't beat the view and need reservations to avoid long wait), The Edgewater Hotel on the waterfront; Salty's on Alki for incredible view of cityscape and waterfront from across the harbor, make reservations. Perhaps your concierge can give further info for downtown if you don't want go further, however the above are just minutes away by taxi or car.
Have a great time. Be sure to visit Pike's Market Place, both sides of the street, and along Post Alley, and the waterfront. And I hope we have a little sunshine for you! (almost forgot - if you want to take a nice drive OUT of town, there's Snoqualmie Falls, the Salish Lodge has great brunch with view of the Falls, and again make reservations. Haven't been there in years tho but believe quality/view still excellent).

Hello Kara,
We ate brunch at the Space Needle on August 29th of last year ( it was my father's 75th birthday). I guess we were lucky, we didn't make reservations and got in just fine. The view was terrific!
I have also heard that the Edgewater puts on a great brunch.

Space Needle's view is worthless on a cloudy day. It also screams tourist but would be a classic place to dine. Salty's on Alki is a 15 minute drive but has a nice view of downtown Seattle. The Sahalish Lodge is about a 45 minute drive East on 90 but the falls there are lovely and the lodge does it up right and it is such a nice Northwestern setting.
