Help me Fodorites - Relax!!

Anyone have any ideas on where to go for just 4-5 days on the East Coast? Relaxing, could be beach, moutains, cabins, no phones, anythings possible. Just need to get away due to very stressful family issues and get re-charged. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

East coast covers a pretty big area and at this time of year there's a wide range of weather conditions you might encounter. If you like "winter snows" than consider a trip to one of the New England states. If you prefer milder weather, think about Charleston, Hilton Head or Savanah.

Canyon Ranch in the Berkshires....hike, walk, massages, sauna, eucalyptus steam rooms, hot tub, excellent food, all sorts of exercise or relaxation classes to de-stress....yoga, morning stretch, an indoor track, an indoor pool,.....no cell phones allowed...(there are phones in the rooms, just don't tell anyone where you are going)...very quiet ..lovely lounges with fireplaces to read in at night, some empty, sometimes music, movies you can bring back to your room.....

we don't know if you're "up" back east or somewhere down south... east coast covers a whole lot of territory.

While I love the North East, its pretty dreary right now -- don't know if gray clouds and rain/snow will help you recharge. I would go to the South East in hopes of better weather.
