Help - Honolulu 1 day/night without the kids

We are leaving for Hawaii later this week with our 2 children - ages 7 and 9. A friend of ours will be in Honolulu with us part of the trip and has offered to babysit the kids for one of the days and nights.
Any recommendations on sights for the 2 of us to see without the kids (we have a rental car)? Or thoughts on a good romantic restaurant? (we are staying at the Hilton Hawaiian Village)

Thanks!

I would hike and there are many locations for that but are you a hiker?
Maybe do the tour at Iolani Palace. It is about 45 minutes long and you will get an overview of Hawaiian History.

Bishop Museum but that is a child friendly place also. Without Kids I would go to Allan Wong's can't comment on the rommance but I would not want to spend $$$ on kids. Michels at the opposite end of Waikiki also nice and romantic. I would not play around with suggestions on restaurants here I would check out zagats.com. They have an online verson you can read for free.

On the weekends in the Hilton there is a group called Oliomana (sp)that plays on the weekend in the rainbow lounge . They are good and released their own cd's tapes but not something kids would want to stay for.

You use to be able to listen to Jazz frequently at the Halekulani. This was always romantic for us when we lived there. We would have chivars Scotch and Smoked Salmon from Scotland. Small space very nice.

The Oriental Mandarin is also a great place for jazz then you can stroll the grounds under the stars.

One of my picks for a romantic restaurant is right there in the Hilton--Bali by the Sea. Very upscale, not a place for kids. Another one is at the top of the Sheraton Waikiki, called the Hanohano Room.

My restaurant choice would be Sansei at Restaurant Row. Not romantic but sinfully delicious (especially the foie gras sushi). For a great view of Honolulu you can try John Dominis (food is good too).
