Help-Honeymoon Ideas (fun, cheap)

Hi! We need ideas for cool, inexpensive
honeymoon sites for a trip this August. We hope to combine relaxation with adventure. We really like interesting wildlife (perhaps snorkeling) and hiking, surfing, and exploring. We're trying to find lower cost airfares. We considered Costa Rica, Baja Mexico- but can't find cheap enough flights/ accomodations. Now we're considering staying in US to keep costs down. Any ideas are greatly welcome. You can send them directly to us at our email address.
Thanks so much! KT

KT - Where are you coming from and how long are you planning for your honeymoon? If you're on the west coast, you might want to consider camping on one of the islands off the coast. Catalina Island is off of the LA coast - You could camp in Two Harbors and then take one of the island buses across the island to Avalon to spend a few more days in a hotel. The Zane Grey Hotel is up on the hill and offers a quiet setting and a great view of the harbor.

Another idea would be to go over to one of the San Juan Islands off of the Washington coast. You could spend a few days up in Vancouver or Seattle as well. Canada would be a good destination due to the currency rates.

Hi Sarah!
Thanks for your thoughts. We are in Boston and we are hoping to take 10-14 days in late August early Sept.
Your ideas are great!
Sincerely,
KT

Bahamas packages can usually be found at a good rate. Your target dates are in the middle of hurricane season so rates are often reduced in the Caribbean.
Other Caribbean destination/packages may fit into your budget too if you check around. Have you browsed the web travel istes?
Also, consider trekking around North Carolina/Virginia....beautiful coastline in NC, hiking in the Appalachians, etc.

Hey KT
What about Florida?? You may find some good rates for Florida? Try Key West.
See about some hotel discounts through the Entertainment Book or Triple A.
Good Luck!
