Hawthorne Suites Lake Buena Vista?

My husband and I are going to WDW in December. Wanted a suite and a kitchen. Anyone recently stayed here? Reviews seem hot or cold. Please pass on any info. Got a rate of $79.00/night which includes breakfast. Keep the reservation or try somewhere else? Thanks

We stayed there for a week in February and found it pretty mediocre, although we paid $139 a night so for $79 it might be worth it. The pool was small, the breakfast was so-so, and the staff wasn't very helpful. The air conditioning blew a strong draft directly on one of the beds when it was turned on, which made it very uncomfortable to use. Luckily the weather was mostly cool when we were there. On the plus side, the location is very convenient to WDW and there are lots of restaurants in the area.

There is another Hawthorn Suites in Kissimmee only about a mile from the enterance of WDW. We have always liked this property.

Pat...Would you stay there again? I think I like the Buena Vista area. We are not travelling with children and like to be able to rest when we are at our hotel. This looked like a less kid chaotic hotel. Any other suggestions?
First time on the east coast. We are low key Oregonians. Thanks for the help.

Probably not. There are so many choices in that area, although you are getting a really good price. I have not tried any of the other suite hotels in the area, so I can't really recommend any of them. There is a Homewood Suites right there too. Maybe someone can advise on that.

I returned Sunday from staying at the Residence Inn Buena Vista. We had a two bedroom suite. One bedroom with king the other with 2 queen beds. The unit looked new and was spotless. Breakfast is offered with the rate. Restaurants and markets are all close. We got a rate of $139 and couldn't have been more satisfied!
