Hawaii wedding
My daughter is planning a wedding in Maui, Hawaii. Her fiance is from Australia and we are from NJ. They decided that Hawaii would be the best place in terms of meeting. It is small. 10 adults and 4 kids under 10. She wants to have the ceremony at Kukahiko estate, but we would all stay at the Grand Wailea for a few days. Any opinions would be more than welcome as we have never been to Hawaii. Also, suggstions for a wedding dinner afterwards. Either at the hotel or she mentioned a restaurant called Gannon's.
Thanks for any direction.

14 people requires some planning... to transport, reservation, timing, ... call the hotel concierge after you reserve your rooms and tell them the story... they will help you fully plan your dinner and arrange transport... the tip for this should be at least $50 when you get there...

Although I would consider renting a people mover van and heading to Mamas for a late lunch, I suggest bev Gannon. Her catering company likely serves the ceremony venue, or just a stroll up the hill she will cater all your needs. And it is easier transport and makes for a beautiful sunset. Proximity and they do weddings all the time of all sizes.

Why not go to the nearby highly rated hotel(grand wailea or Fairmont)? No fuss, no muss, 4 kids can be put to bed while other adults continue to celebrate
Transportation of a large group just adds unnecessary complications.
Make it simple, enjoy!

Let me get this straight.
I warn the op to scratch a restaurant off the list to save them time on what could be a dead end.
You question me
I offer a source = the restaurant
And you question that that is not what the restaurant means
I suggest you call the restaurant
And you say Jesus relax?
They don't seat parties over 8 and don't do private functions.
Why are we here if not to offer authentic advice.

Off topic. Yes Mamas is pricey- very pricey.
But when I return I will do like an elderly local couple did. They shared a soup $16 and a side of Koloa pork $8 and poi free with the house bread. A couple of iced teas and they were in heaven. We looked at our entrees and were envious.
