HAWAII used car rental & cheap accomodation
My daughter and I have had a longtime dream to swim with dolphins. We're finally going to the big island of Hawaii July16 to Aug. 10...on limited resources.Taking camping gear but would like to also find a room for rent and a used car rental. Any tips on where to camp/sleep would be appreciated muchly.

Hi Toba - What a wonderful thing to do with your daughter! Are you planning to swim with the dolphins at the Hilton Waikoloa? We watched children swim with the dolphins there, and it was just an amazing thing to see! What part or parts of the Big Island do you want to stay on? What is your dollar limit for your room and your car, and what age is your daughter? It's easier to help if we have a little more info! Aloha - RH

Hi Bonnie Sunshine,
First you're hearing from another Bonnie - (Bonnie Ruth) Nice name you've got there! The children swimming with the dolphins did include children as young as 5 and 6, I'm sure. I saw them two years ago; at that time, the Hilton Waikoloa put all the children's names in a lottery, and the lucky ones got chosen. It costs about $75 per child if they get chosen. You can call the hotel at (808) 885-1234, to ask about the rules, price, etc., now. A really sweet thing to see was the Mothers & babies in their separate pool - the babies played like puppies in water! Good luck in getting your children! Have a great time. E-mail me if I can help further.
Aloha ..... Ruth

I read your message about swimming with the dolphins. I am going in August to Hawaii and have 2 children that also want to swim with the dolphins. Can you email info. about the program that you and your daughter have looked into or have signed up with? If sorry I don't have any suggestions for you about camping or car and room rental. Thanks for any info you can give Toni
