hawaii in October - any ideas??

Hi! I'm an English junior doctor, working in LA and NYC through Aug/Sept this year, and I've blindly booked a flight to Honolulu in October for 2 weeks. Can anyone help me re. where I should go, what I shouldn't miss, and what I should really avoid. Specifically, how should I get from Oahu to the other islands (and which islands should I go to as a priority). I've really no idea what to do! Thanks a lot,
Olly

Hello, you really need to do some reseach first. Stop by your local book store and buy the Frommer's hawaii 2001 guidebook, or the Fodors guidebook.. It is just packed with the info you are looking for. We are going in June. I have read the book a couple of times, used post it notes on a lot of pages and then asked a few questions on the travel forums.Read through the forums and see what others have asked. Make informed decisions from the book and from the forums. You will have a great time just doing research..! Have fun

I second everything Dona said, especially about the Frommer's Books - you just can't beat them!

Then tell me what you like to do in your leisure time, and I'll give you recommendations about which islands!

Aloha,

Lani

If you are looking for activities, try www.gohawaii.com for a calendar. You may have to check back as you get closer to the date, as some organizations do not get a chance to post their festivities until the time is near.
