Hawaii Fitness Spa ??

Can someone help with this? I have an unexpected week to travel right after Christmas and would like to go to Hawaii. Am interested in finding a spa with good exercise classes, yoga, healthy food etc. Don't want to spend a fortune, but doesn't have to be budget either. Would like something like the Red Mountain Spa in Utah (lovely and comfortable, but serious about fitness and not ultra-luxury with a big price tag). A lot of yoga would be a big plus. All I seem to be able to find are hotel spas, which although they can be very nice are not quite what I have in mind.

I though about trying to "create" one by going to a lot of yoga classes and finding a gym, but that never seems to work as well as it seems it should and since it is a holiday week most of those places will be on limited schedules.

Have a fair amount of flexibility about which island so would appreciate any suggestions. (I know this is a terrible week for last minute reservations!)

Has anyone ever heard of the Plantation Spa on Kam Hwy in Kaaawa? I found it in an old book and it looks interesting, but can't find much on the web except one with the same name in the Outrigger Hotel.

Thanks for any info!

I have not heard of this place, but Kaaawa is way out in the boonies.

I think you haven't gotten an answer because there are not a whole lot of places in Hawaii that offer all of the items that you're looking for (that I know of). There are fitness facilities that offer yoga, there are yoga facilities, but there aren't yoga/fitness/spa facilities. If you find one, it will probably have that luxury price tag.

I go to the YMCA for fitness and yoga, and Heaven on Earth for the spa. These two are fairly close to each other on Oahu--my YMCA is across Ala Moana Center, and 2-3 blocks west is the new Heaven on Earth spa facility. I haven't been to that one yet, but just thinking of your needs and keeping them close by.

I too am interested in this answer. I've researched a bit but not found anything like what you describe yet myself (in Hawaii that is).

i have membership (haven't gone for awhile) at kauai marriott fitness (yoga) where i know they have day spa www.alexanderspa.com.

i know few go to www.hartfeltmassage.com/yoga.htm at waimea cottages (westside), and comment (facial/body) is much better than km, they also have beachfront yoga but as far as having a fitness spa like the mainland, i'm curious too - not that i'll go.

Thanks MelissaHI and my apologies to kuai_aka for not being more specific: I am going to Oahu (no cars to rent on Kaui over Christmas week!)

From what I can tell, what I had exactly in mind does not exist in Honolulu, but there are options for yoga, spa and the gym in separate place (which is OK too). Thanks for info.
