Hawaii Book/Web page Suggestions
I'm going to buy some travel books on Hawaii soon and wanted some suggestions on which ones you have used and liked. (Obviously, I'll be checking into Fodor's Hawaii guide.)
Also, do you have any good Hawaii web-sites that you would suggest?
Thanks in advance,
Paul

My favorite, for all the basic facts about the Hawaiian Islands, is Frommers - they're updated yearly, give the important details, and their hotel & restaurant recommendations are very reliable. They will also tell you when something isn't as it should be. "The Idiot's Guide to Hawaii" with contributions from some Frommers editors is also great! Books and articles written by Rick Carroll, Jeanette Foster, Jocelyn Fujii are always really interesting and reliable.
Also "The Best Places to Stay in Hawaii" is excellent, as are "Ultimate Kauai Guide" and "Hawaii: the Big Island Revealed" by Andrew Doughty and Harriet Friedman; "The Access Guide to Hawaii", and also the Paradise Guides to individual islands. Hope this helps!

I have to agree with Ruth. Frommer's is very detailed and it's still small enough to carry it with you. I was in Hawaii last year and I borrowed a friend's Frommer's book and then passed it on to another friend. All of us agree that it really helped make the trip more enjoyable.
