Visiting the Big Island with my grown daughter in June. Would like to stay at a condo or hotel with an actual beach, or at least in walking distance of one. Prefer the Kona side. Would like to stay under $300 a night. I found many condos with amazing views but they are mostly in rocky areas. We much prefer to spend time at the beach instead of the pool.

JBeth, we usually stay at the Fairway Villas in the Waikoloa Beach Resort because the condos are inexpensive (usually around $150/night for a two bed/two bath condo). We drive to Hapuna or Makawia Bay at the Mauna Lani or the beach at the Mauna Kea. Resort. It's walking distance to A-Bay.

If I wanted to spend more money, I'd look at the condos at the Mauna Lani. I love the Mauna Lani resort area.
