Has anyone stayed at the Plaza in NYC since it reopened?

It's so nice to wake up to sarcasm. What he meant was there were crowds of people in the lobby (taking pictures), somewhat taking away from that exclusive, luxurious feel that you pay over $1000 per night for. i would think that it would diminish my experience too if i had to fight the crowds to get to the elevator after paying that kind of money.

OK, that makes sense. Sorry, but just saying "there were a lot of tourists in the lobby" just struck me as describing any hotel in the world (unless no one was staying there). I realize that many tourists don't want to see another tourist on their trip and want to regard everything as they do as non touristy (I think this is called "tourist denial"). This just sounded like another one of those "I don't want to go anywhere touristy" statements.
"crowds of people in the lobby (taking pictures)" and "there were a lot of tourists in the lobby" are two very different sounding experiences!!

i see your point and should have done better describing his experience. It just seems like people are quick to jump in with sarcastic or acerbic comments. Point taken, and i will choose my words more carefully next time!
