I will be at Harrah's and going to a show (Elton John) at Caesars. Even though we will have a car. Should we walk this or cab it or take the car? How far a walk?

They are both on the strip and not that far from each other. I would walk it. Caesar's is set way back so it's probably a nice stroll. There really look like they are angled across the Strip from each other, but distances are deceiving with LV. I've walked from mid-Strip to 5 casinos down and back quite easily. This walk isn't that far unless you had special handicap or some other walking issue. I would say, and it is just a guess, that it would be a 6 Chicago city block walk. LOL!

Anyway, you can see it easily from Harrah's. Harrah's is right up on the Strip proper, with little set back, so it can't be that far.

It depends on how much time you have and if your willing to make the trek.

Harrahs and Caesars are on different sides of the street. You shouldn't just 'jay-walk' across the street to get there, though I have seen it done and have done it myself a few times.

You can walk from Harrahs down to the Barbarby Coast and take the pedestrian escalator across to Balleys and then walk over the bridge to the Belliago and then another pedistrian escalator across to Caesars. It will be farther than you think since the hotels are quite spread out and their actual entrances are set far back from the sidewalk, but it's quite doable.

We have taken a cab from the Flamingo to Caesars once. We were running late and didn't want the hassle. Cost about $10.00 + tip.

How high are your heels and how good is your walking wearing them? This would be my first question.

Walk to the show, and if you don't feel like walking back, take a cab.

Across the street they may be, but as KVR says, you can't just walk across from one to the other safely . . .

Still, I would walk it in a heartbeat, assuming I was wearing shoes in which I wouldn't be at risk of breaking an ankle. The Vegas strip is a fun place to walk.

As I recall, there is an actual crosswalk--not the bridges that add great distances--right between Flamingo and Caesars. Altho this map is not to scale, I always use it for orientation purposes.

I would also walk as my DH and I love to walk in Vegas. BUT if there is a question in your mind about how far you can comfortably walk, you might want to check where in Caesars the theater is in relation to the entrance ... all the strip resorts are huge but Caesars just goes on and on and on .... I don't know where the theater is but it is possibly a very long way from the entrance you might use walking over from Harrahs.

Unless you have some physical disability or limitation, by all means walk. You will not have to walk all the way down to the pedestrian bridge to cross over. Socialworker is correct about the crosswalk.

Even if you go to the corner and don't use the crosswalk, it's not that hard to cross that street. And yes, Caesars is back but it also has a people mover, if I remember correctly, to carry you through on one level.

And I walked from 5 casinos, down, and I'm no teen ager. Walk, you see things at your own speed.

No one said you did. mrs2dfan said they are right across the street from each other, and I said that I agreed with what you said about not just crossing in the middle of the street.

When we stayed at Caesar's, I was horribly dismayed to find out there was no Starbucks on the property. The nearest one was at Harrah's. So, every morning, I walked over to get my latte. It usually took about 30 minutes round trip, including making the drink!

There is a crosswalk on the street.

In front of Barabary Coast, on the blvd, there is an elevator and escalator to a bridge that goes across L.V. Blvd to Caesars.

KVR, your route goes south across Flamingo Ave., then over L.V. Blvd, then back north across Flamingo Ave. It is certainly an enjoyable walk, but circuitous.

Thanks to all of you for the replies. I think it sounds doable. So we will walk there and maybe back if we are not too tired, or maybe just hop a cab back.

mrwunrfl, we are talking about the same route. I just detailed it more as to other hotel locations.

If I remember correctly, the pedistrain bridge between the Barbary Coast and Balleys, takes you between the Belliago and Caesars, but on the Belliago side, you still have to take another escaltor over to Caesars.

We've been to Las Vegas several times and was just there last July. Will be there again in 2 weeks staying at the Imperial Palace. I'll look again.

You should definately use the cross walks...anything else would be suicide! lol have a great time in Vegas...
