Hard Rock Hotel???????????
I am considering the hard rock hotel at universal for next summers family vacation. We have two teenagers 17 and 14. Has anyone stayed here and what did you think? I am wondering about the pool and how close it is the the park. Any info will be appreciated. Thanks.

I was there today (visiting someone) and it was gorgeous - I might have to stay there for a weekend even though I live here in Orlando. It is on the Universal/Islands of Adventure property and you have automatic Express Line privileges while staying there. (Others can also get this, but only one express ticket at a time) The pool is as great as the original HRH in Las Vegas. You can't go wrong staying there!

Hi Kam,
My family (husband & 2 teen boys) spent a week at the Hard Rock this past Spring. The place is beautiful!!!
First, the music played throughout the hotel is not at all "too loud". It's really perfect. They play a large selection of songs - everything from the Beach Boys to ZZ Topp.
Second, the entire hotel and grounds are just lovely. No kidding, I got the best pictures! The pool area is great, there is a bar at the pool where you can order food. We had lunch poolside one day, (excellent Cobb salad) and it was so nice and relaxing. We were surprised that there was no "deep end" at the pool, but we still spent lots of time in it! My boys played basketball at the pool each day, and there's a fun water slide that I liked better than they did!
You cannot beat the convenience of walking to the parks! It's a 5 minute (beautifully landscaped) walk to City Walk or Universal/IOA. We also loved City Walk, the restaurants were very good, and it was fun browsing the shops. Make reservations for Margaritaville, their nachos are a meal by themselves.
All-in-all we loved the Hard Rock and really had a great time there!

My husband and I stayed at the Hard Rock for five days last fall. It is a great hotel. They also have GREAT Restaurants. Sushi (World Famous- Nobu) and an EXCELLENT 24 hour cafe called Lucky's (or something) but we ate breakfast there EVERY morning. It was very good. AND not to mention a great Mexican place too. All reasonanble prices too. The music? Of course it is loud, not TOO loud...but EVERY hotel has loud music- it is LAS VEGAS! There is really a lot to see and look at in this hotel, your kids will probably love that...The ONLY thing I will mention that I didn't particarly LOVE is that it is kind of off from the other hotels...so you have to take a bus, cab, or walk, etc. to get to all the other hotels....Minor compared to the rest....HAVE FUN!! and learn how to play Craps....it is the BEST!

OK- I was sooo thinking you were asking about the Hard Rock hotel in LAS VEGAS>..I just reread the question...I guess I didn't fully read the question at first...so disregard the answer but if you ever go to Vegas...def the Hard Rock...Have fun in Orlando too...

I just saw a complete show about the Hardrock Hotel at Universal on the Travel Channel last night. The program was very in depth and the hotel looks incredible!! Check listings or maybe their web-site; they will surely run the program again (I think it was part of their 'Secrets' series).

We stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel for three nights at the end of June. The hotel is fabulous. The pool area is great and it is a short walk to Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure/City Walk. Our son is 14 and had a great time. Express line privileges are fantastic. We never waited more than 5 minutes to get on any ride. Check out Entertainment Card rates. The hotel may not be listed in your Entertainment Book, but just ask for the Entertainment Rate when you call and if available, buy an Entertainment Book so you can show the card at check in. These Entertainment Rates are excellent!! Worth buying a book for $30!
