Happy Holidays from NYC to the 50 million
The mayor announced that in 2011 there will be more than 50 million visitors to NYC - more than 10 million from outside the US. We are really happy to have all of you here - do explore more than Times sSquare and see the real city - and Happy Holidays to all! And come back next year.

I've been to New York City twelve times, including one visit of two weeks. Still feel like I've barely scratched the surface.
It's has always been, and remains, my favorite US city to visit BY FAR.
Would go back in, well, a New York minute.

There are cities that more beautiful, older, cleaner, less congested, and more temperate in nature but there are none as diverse and exciting. In fact, only half of NY'ers were actually born in NYC. There is an entire city you have not seen yet.

So glad I live here! Whoopie
But, you're all welcomed to come and enjoy and leave your $$$s.
And, do go farther afield than the 'must sees'... just walking from neighborhood-to-neighborhood in Manhattan is an experience. Let alone when you get to the outer boroughs.
Or, getting on the #7 train out to Queens where you'll find every stop is a different Asian community. Great shopping and food! Amazing what it does to the senses.... Wow!

SueNYC I'll jump in with a visitor's recommendation for the subway. We were delighted to discover how easy it was to use. The other pleasant surprise was that on the few occasions when we couldn't decide which stop to get off at, there was no shortage of locals who would politely interrupt our discussion and help us work out the best option.

Actually the lines outside the Met and Natural history were pretty astounding. Not as bad as during the McQueen exhibit though. And TS on pedestrian Broadway already looks a bit like New Year's Eve. See the movie. Much easier than being in TS.
