Hang outs/restaurants in Baton Rouge

Any recommendations on "must do's" as far as restaurnats or bars in Baton Rouge? I'll be in town for an LSU game later this fall & am looking for some local flavor.

Did you know it is called Baton Rouge -French for red stick - because they used a stick with the end painted red to mark the rise in water...because it is below sea level and they get a lot of floods.

Oh yeah, honey!
Get on over to Juban's on Perkins Rd. for a fine Creole dinner (haven't been in a year or so, but have been several times before that and it was excellent). Casual/dressy. There are some neat bars next to the big mall in BR...have the locals advise.

Baton Rouge is NOT below sea level. Parts of New Orleans are. BR's elevation is about 70 above if I remember correctly.

Just looked it up:

Baton Rouge is positioned 30.44 degrees north of the equator and 91.12 degrees west of the prime meridian.

Baton Rouge elevation is 60 feet above sea level.

I like Mike Anderson's for seafood. The Pasttime bar near the old state capitol is full of local flavor - especially on game day.
