Gulf Shores Beach vs Orange Beach vs Fort Morgan beach

Heading down for spring break and new to this area. What are the main differences or pros/cons of the 3 beaches? When people say "less crowded" in their condo rental listing when referring to beach how crowded is the "main" one or popular one? Is there an area that is better for shelling on the beach. In some ways it would be nice to be walkable to some restaurants/bars but not sure it's worth a super crowded beach. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Staying in 3rd week of March. Thanks!

These towns are in Alabama, not Florida.

Noting that Perdido Key, in Florida, is about a 15 minute walk from Orange Beach, and just across the bay is Pensacola Beach, so might as well look at all 5 areas. I found Pensacola Beach 8 years ago to be sleepy feeling if that is more your style, not built up enough to have more than a couple restaurants within walking distance.

Note that this area is too far north for reliably warm spring break weather.

There are a number of great beaches in the area that attract spring breakers, including Gulf Shores Beach, Orange Beach, and Fort Morgan Beach. Both Gulf Shores Beach and Orange Beach have more establishments and services available to visitors. Nonetheless, Fort Morgan Beach retains much of its natural, unspoiled beauty because it is less frequented and further from civilization.

Fort Morgan Beach is often less congested than its neighboring beaches of Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. The third week in March is normally before the peak season, so you may not encounter as many people as during the summer.

While shelling is possible on all three beaches, the amount and diversity of shells may change based on where you go and what time of day it is.

Gulf Shores Beach and Orange Beach are the better options if you value proximity to restaurants and bars you can reach on foot. Think about the fact that this could make these beaches busier than usual.
