Help In Orange Beach/Gulf Shores

Can anyone tell me about restaurants in either place? We'll be there in late May and are looking to eat out at least a few times, we like nicer restaurants but look forward to any info you can suggest as well as nitelife, if there is any.

We stayed at the Perdido Beach Resort in Orange Beach several years ago and they have a very popular, upscale restaurant. All I really remember is that the setting was beautiful. I can't remember anything at all about the food, so that might not be the best recommendation!

Zeke's in Orange Beach is good with good views of water during daylight. In Gulf Shores try Sea-n-Suds for mullet fish fry on Tues and Friday nights. Flora-bama for drinks

Here is my list of favorites in Gulf Shores & Orange Beach:

Zeke's
Franco's (Italian)
The Original Oyster House (great food, family oriented)
Nolans (upscale)
The Back Porch (casual)
Tacky Jacks (casual waterfront)

Here are some places I wouldn't recommend:
RJ's Fish House
Sea N Suds
Bubba Gump

*Pick up a guide at any grocery and they'll list locations for each restaurant.

They have a section in Information that has a good list of Orange Beach and Gulf Shores Restaurants. You may have to become a member of the group but it's pretty easy.

Me,
Ignore that reference to the Flora-Bama...it's a low life bar at the state line. Only go if you have the name of a bail bondsman in your pocket!

Did you take your trip to Orange beach/gulf shores? Where did you stay and would you recommend it or somewhere else? Our family is planning a vacation there in June 2003. Thanks!

Don't miss Doc's.....a local favorite for great fried seafood and gumbo. You'll always spot a police car or two.......NO, it's not what you're thinking, they love the food, too!
